Blackjack Advice for Online and Offline Casinos

Blackjack is a fascination card game that can be played using one deck or all the way up to 8 decks. As most people know, the idea is to get the closest hand to 21 without going over.

The cards in blackjack are added as their face value except for face cards which are 10 points each and the Ace can be either valued as 1 or 11. Of course, the best hand you can get would be an Ace and a face card that is worth 10 points or of course the number 10. The winning hand will pay even money. The way to win is to beat the dealer. This means you must be closer to 21 than the dealer without going over 21. If you have the exact same amount as the dealer the game will be a tie called a push.

The good news is that you have a bit of an advantage over the dealer as there are set rules for the dealer. The dealer has to take a hit if he or she has 16 points showing and must stand if the cards showing are added up to be 17 points or more. You can hit or stand without any set amounts for the players. The one thing to remember if the dealer busts, goes over 21, and you also go over 21, the dealer wins which is called the house.

The game begins with every player receiving two cards, one face down and one face up, including the dealer offline. If the dealer receives an Ace, you will be offered insurance just in case the dealer has blackjack or 21. Now, each player will have the opportunity to decide if they wish to be hit, stand, split your cards, double your bet, or even surrender.

To stand means you want to keep the cards you have and not receive any more as you believe your cards are close enough to 21 to beat the dealer.

If you do not believe your cards are close enough to 21, you can ask for a hit, which means you will receive another card. You can be hit with as many cards face up as you desire unless you go bust or when you decide to stand.

In many online casinos, if your first two cards when added up are 9, 10, or 11, you have the option of doubling your bet. If you do this, you will only receive one more card that you must be dealt. No matter what the cards add up to, you will not receive any more cards. In online casino Singapore, all cards are dealt face up, except for the dealer that receives one face up and one face down.

You can split your cards if both cards of the same point value. This just means that you will turn your one hand into 2 hands with each hand being played on its own.

A few online casinos will let you surrender your hand if you do not think you have a chance to win the hand at all. You will only receive half of your bet if you choose to surrender.

After all players have received their cards and are done betting, the dealer will reveal his face down card. If the dealer has 16 or under he or she must take a hit, if the dealer shows 17 or higher the game is over. If your hand adds up closer to 21 than what the dealer is showing, without going over, you won the hand.
